A skatepark in the eastern part of the capital has been rehabilitated, becoming a key spot for the skateboarding community. The renovation not only improves sports practice but also promotes social interaction, the appropriation of public space, and safety in the area by attracting families, youth, and urban groups. Deputy Rebeca Peralta highlighted the recovery of the skatepark on Calzada de la Viga as part of her first year of legislative and territorial work. She emphasized that her management has focused on concrete results to improve the quality of life in Iztapalapa, including the maintenance of parks, medians, green areas, and sports spaces. "Because you chose me as your voice in Congress, every day I wake up with that responsibility in mind and in my heart, working to ensure that Iztapalapa is always at the center of every decision," she expressed. She also informed about the presentation of 28 initiatives on key issues such as security, technology, labor rights, and social reintegration. The recovery of the skatepark located on Calzada de la Viga marks an important step in the revitalization of public spaces in the east of Mexico City. This site, which for years was a meeting point for young people, is now re-establishing itself as a safe, functional, and attractive space for skateboarding. Located between the boroughs of Iztapalapa and Iztacalco, the skatepark was intervened to improve its infrastructure with concrete modules, well-distributed street zones, inclined planes, and areas designed for both beginners and advanced skaters. Among the renovated elements are boxes, rails, manual pads, banks, and eurogaps, which allow for greater flow in lines and encourage the technical development of users. Among them, proposals stand out to combat dynamic pricing at events, the use of artificial intelligence in security, and the sealing of criminal records to facilitate social reintegration. Finally, Peralta also emphasized her push for culture, with actions such as the creation of the First Parliament of Culture and the strengthening of emblematic traditions like the Passion of Christ in Iztapalapa.
